Along the way I pulled off into almost every roadside park or state park on the water.
The delicate beach plants were teaching me about just being still.
And it didn't matter that I continued driving. I was surrounded in quiet.
I'm fickle. I had one title, changed it, now I've changed it back thanks to freefalling. Blame her if you must blame anyone, hehe.

oh - you changed the title!
I loved the first title - it conjured up such wonderful images and suited the feel of your post perfectly!
(And if you can talk about bat poo, I'm showing dog bites!)
Letitia, well dear, since you liked it, and I trust you ultimately to call me out, I'm changing it back. Now. It doesn't sound too precious?
Ok, then. I was actually gonna go back and leave a nicer comment. Will do now.
Being quiet is most needed now Ruth. Earth can heal itself if we let. If we remain quiet.
Bur being quiet has other problems.
there would be a war with Iran. And the Iranian president hasn't learnt to be quiet.
Good break Ruth, my travels are hardly as delicate as yours.
Delicate travels - just perfect :-)
Your photos are gorgeous.

rauf, sitting in a little car alone is quite different from sitting in an Indian train, even if it's empty except for you. Plus, Monday I was the only one on the road driving. The beaches were empty but for me. I think I saw one guy swimming at a long distance. I saw hardly any wildlife. No elephants, just a few seagulls.
Britt-Arnhild, thank you. It was everything I met that was delicate, except for the new mansions on the hills in NW Michigan. Those were not delicate.
This is so you, Ruth. I feel like I have just gotten in your skin to feel what you were seeing and experiencing. Thank you.
Boots, it was just what I needed. Thank you.
And it didn't matter that I continued driving. I was surrounded in quiet.
.. i am so with you in that way as well.. some of my quieter moments are in the car, alone..driving on a lonely stretch. and my husband is that way too, we used to love going on long rides, just gettign in the car and leaving, driving up a coastal highway or into the mountains and taking our time enjoying the beauty and booking into a hotel for the night.. :)
Mystic Rose, yes, I was long overdue for a road trip, and it realy gave me what I needed. I'd love to live where you do and be able to drive up into New England, especially this time of year.
I love these photos. Thanks for sharing your part of the world.
Thanks, Yolanda. And you're welcome. I think you'd love the drive too.
So glad to gave happened upon your blog. I love you pictures. My husband grew up in MI and I had my first trip to the UP last summer.
I also found your Paris blog and cannot wait until I have a quiet moment to devour it.
Thank you so much, Tori. I hope you enjoy. Where in MI?
What a beautiful photography Ruth!!!!
Thank you, JoAnn! Glad you're back.
