Happy St. Patrick's Day

During the week, I do most of the cooking and menu planning. On weekends, Don usually cooks me breakfast. Today, he cooked this gorgeous Irish breakfast:

- bacon cooked crisp

- poached eggs on crumpets

- broiled tomatoes

Don and I are both sad, because we don't think he'll be able to go to Ireland with me for work this summer.

But today at least, we'll celebrate the Irish by eating well.

Stylish breakfast Ruth.

Is it celeberated in the US as well ? I thought it is celeberated only in Ireland since St. Patrick is their patron saint.
Padreg ? forgot how they spell it.

I regret losing 2 albums of Irish folk songs, Some friend took them and never returned. Long playing records they were.

Don can always join you for a week
Are you goingon a study tour with students like last time ?

Anon., yes, at least he got to go last year. And maybe again next year.

Rauf, yes, I think we celebrate St. Patrick's Day more here in the US than they do in Ireland, from what I've heard. Some don't think of St. Patrick as representative of Ireland, since he came from Britain. Yes, I'll be taking first year college students for 2 weeks again, with three colleagues.

Yum-my! Now that's my kind of breakfast. Bummer that Don can't join you this summer! :-(

My kind of breakfast, too, Ruth. I think we must have lots of Irish in us, you think?!

Amy & Ginnie, wish you could have joined us for Irish breakfast (and then some ginger tea).

This has nothing to do with your glorious breakfast, but I thought you might be interested in checking out this website: www.allonenow.org

Rachel, no, I haven't seen that site before! It looks fascinating. I couldn't find a location. Are all the events broadcast somehow? Have you participated?

Love you!

You can listen to them, but you have to be on a browser that allows Windows Media Player. There are archives of all of the shows. I have a friend who has been connecting me to all kinds of new movies, music, books and websites. If you can get your hands on 1 Giant Leap (DVD), it's beautiful! If you like it, there is a CD, too.
