I found out today at a college retreat that my former classmate in poetry class at MSU was written up in the New York Times book section for his new book THE FATHER OF ALL THINGS:
A Marine, His Son, and the Legacy of Vietnam.
A Marine, His Son, and the Legacy of Vietnam.
"At the beginning of this fine book, Tom Bissell asks the obvious question: 'More than 30,000 books on Vietnam are currently in print. Why another?'” You can read the whole review here.

They write so that we don't repeat our blunders Ruth. But 30,000 books
had no effect.
So sad but true, what Rauf wrote. I'll definitely check out the review later, Ruth!
Rauf, unfortunately people with understanding are not in power.
Ginnie, I was shocked to hear how far Tom has gone with four books now, and very well received. He was always talented. But it takes that perfect combination of talent, timing, networking and luck to a) get published and b) make a name for yourself.
