And let's not forget the photo essay for the Grand Ledge St. Paddy's Parade: (popup app is under Photo Galleries in www.lansingstatejournal.com home page) In Colorado Springs, they let us peace activists into the St. Paddy's parade after dragging people away last year: http://www.gazette.com/articles/year_34261___article.html/last_peace.html
mmm, so beautiful. NYC is crazy for st. patty's day! a parade, and lots of happy drunk people wearing funny green hats stumbling down the streets and into the subways. i'm glad i stayed at home last night. :) i miss you!
It always looks nuts there, through the TV anyway. Did you hear about the bad construction accident? A lady (and two construction workers I think) who was there for St. Paddy's day was killed by a crane. :|
Awwww. I'm late but I DID like the thought of many people around the world celebrating a Green Day, Ruth. I LOVE your green from the real place. You're lucky!
Ruth, I almost missed these beautiful pictures, you have been around I see, lucky you, to answer your question to Ginnie, no we do not celbrate St.Patrick's Day, the Irish in Amsterdam might though, but it is not a special day to the Dutch. Have a great weekend.
Astrid, I suppose you might have to be Catholic to know it as a saints day, and it makes sense that you wouldn't celebrate it there. We have such a large Irish immigrant population here.
