clementine

We have been given colors so expressive,
that taking them in, we learn a new language.
-
Have you tasted orange, like this?
Have you felt
-
courage on your tongue?
And have you spoken that truth?

Ruth, right now I do have my breakfast :-) and I do have some oranges with it. Your picture makes me think about that, an orange has to be orange in color and than it taste good, a blue orange would not taste that good, and courage on my tongue; sometimes we are not quite saying what we would have like to be said, I know we have to be truthful but sometimes it is more wise to just go 'in between' (not truth and no lie) (to express feelings in English is sometimes difficult) but I tasted your ornage too, a beautiful capture of a fine fruit!

I wonder... sometimes I can't find the words... or later I think of a way I could have pinned the truth down closer with my words.

I love that!
Orange, like courage, on your tongue.
Wonderfully evocative words.

the picture itself is gorgeous.

but your words are something else, beautiful, simple and powerful.

Thanks, Drowsey. :)

You always express yourself well, Astrid. You're very caring and kind, yet I feel you are always genuine and true. I agree sometimes we can't tell the truth. We don't want to hurt someone's feelings. It would be wrong to be truthful in some cases.

There is something about this color - its purity - that spoke to me. And you're right, a blue orange or tangerine would not taste the same.

Swedehart, oh yes. Often just when I finish clicking "send" I wish I could rewrite what I wrote.

Ruth said...

Freefalling, thank you for being so emphatic with your praise. :)

Heather, and usually they're easy to peel as well. But not this bunch. Oh well, they're still delicious, and pure.

Ruth said...

Alice, yes, such simplicity and purity. And that's the taste for me too.

Ruth said...

Thank you, Mystic. I say this sincerely: I have you to thank for much of my writing impetus these days.

Vibrant or dull, colours speak.
In panic, blood is drained from the face, when happy and cheerful, the colour rushes to the face, while blushing too, yes men also blush, you can see that even on a very dark skinned face.

Colours attract, they are meant to attract our attention, White is a sum of all major colours, black is a beauty too.
Red is stop, danger
Amber is i am changing
Green is all clear.
We accept and understand the language of colours and immediately react, like a white flag of peace. People are serious with red roses, you can't take offering of a red rose lightly.
Colours are offered to gods, colours are smeared on gods.

Ruth, Please check the festival of colours called HOLI.

Courage is used at right time at right places. Courage at wrong time and wrong place becomes stupidity, so is truth.
Truth is very damaging Ruth. Thank goodnesss the politicians don't speak the truth.
Been traveling again Ruth, sorry i couldn't visit earlier

Wow! I put Astrid's and Rauf's words about courage together and I am sprakeloos (speechless). And all from a Clementine! She what you did, Ruth!

Ruth said...

rauf, yes truth is damaging. Then again, what is truth, since a lot depends on perspective?

Telling the "facts" and spinning them, politicians are good at that.

Yep, colors mean things. Funny how different cultures recognize certain colors for different messages. In the U.S.: pink for girls, blue for boys. In Turkey red is for girls, don't remember what's for boys. I will look into the HOLI festival.

Glad you're back safely.

Ah, Ginnie, now YOU'RE really in another language. It must be great learning Dutch. Do you ever mix it up with German? (Didn't you study GRM in high school?)

Wesrey! Hahahaha, oh you are so cuuuuuute. If you do you'll have that orange rim around your mouth and the palms of your hands will turn orange. If I hadn't seen it myself, I never would have believed it. I love you.
