Cloud mountain

We may not have mountains in Michigan (no, Boyne "Mountain" is NOT a mountain), but we have clouds. Clouds are my mountains, when I don't have real ones. They loom and inspire awe, and give dimension to the landscape the way mountains do.

Time to meditate on a cloud, like a child.

that's such a nice thought.
i have definitely been going back to child-hood thoughts today.
being able to spend a day completely care-free.

beautiful photo, seriously.
the michigan landscape with billowing clouds is extremely breathtaking. something new york lacks. but i guess the cityscape could be my mountains.

Mmm, Lesley, that's so nice that you've been going back to childhood thoughts (at least I hope it's nice! :)). I love that you have days off. So deserved! Thank you for your comment on the photo. I was so taken by the cloud, I was almost home and turned around and went back for the pic. I know you miss the field-scapes, but maybe you can go out to Mauntauck and get some photos! And yes, maybe the cityscape is your mountain range.

I love you.

It's interesting that you've written about the cloud-mountains, Ruth, because I've really been noticing them here in Atlanta lately. Often I have said, "I should stop and take a picture of that!" You did it for me. Thanks. Sometimes we just need such "simple" majesty to take our breath away!

Ginnie, I found myself losing track of the road because I was so taken with the various clouds along the way yesterday. They are just so glorious sometimes. Then the moon last night was incredible too!

What a great idea, Ruth. Hmmm, methinks you should write a poem. :)

Heather, I was thinking the same.

I remember Hugh Grant's movie Ruth. We see what we want to see in the clouds and you'll find it there. My favourite pastime.. Beautiful picture Ruth. Perfect composition.

Thank you, Rauf. Which movie is that of Hugh Grant's? It's not ringing a bell.

'The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain'
Long title Ruth very intersting film. Its about a village, Hugh Grant goes there for land survey and announces that the local mountain is actually a hill as it is short by a few feet to be called a mountain. The villagers are disappointed. They hold Hugh Grant on some excuse and dig up and carry the soil up the hill in buckets to add the height, the entire village is engaged in this activity. Its a romantic comedy.

Rauf, yes yes yes, I saw that movie and loved it too. Such a departure for Hugh Grant. All about perspective!
