Such a perfect announcement. Isn't it true the most extraordinary events require the fewest words? Young James himself is born a spark from that bonfire of love.

Such a wonderful news, Ruth. I am so happy for you and your family.

We celebrated many 18th of January in my family – it was my grandfather’s birthday (my mom’s dad.) I have written several posts about him. (He was partly responsible for my travel addiction as he gave me postcards to play with when I was a small child.) He was very tall and smart and had a strong personality and lived a very long life. I hope that baby James will have a happy life too. Starting in your family with so much love surrounding him is a very good start! Congratulations.

Your poetry and photography will reach new heights! I have to go photograph Spencer's neck, hands feet, etc today as I MUST have that to remember more perfectly. (Will's I'm not so interested in anymore ha ha)

Congrats and hugs and smiles sent your way... I have a feeling there will be numerous trips to have him in your arms! ;)

Congratulations to you and the happy parents!! It's really something special to be parents - and grandparent! Not surprised if especially the mother is exhausted; 22 1/2 hours of labour!! So, he arrived just in time; let's see how punctual he will be in a couple of years! :-)

My dear Friends, I'm overwhelmed. With unspeakable joy. With gratitude. With all the Sacredness of Life.

I'm so pleased to share this time with you, and to know that you care. It was a long and difficult labor and delivery, yet how quickly we moved into the next phase of the worries of the first days at home! ;-) He is doing beautifully well, and all the important milestones are past.

I will update you in a post sometime this week. I'm still with the new family until tomorrow. We all slept well last night! Including Sir James.
