It's going to be a busy week here, with Thanksgiving this Thursday. Living out in the country on this farm (it's a non-working farm, I think you know) means we can go out for a walk in nature when we need a break, into the sanctuary of the meadow and woods. I made a video slideshow of some of my photos, so come out with me and Esperanza Spalding while she sings "Ponte de Areia." We might not be digging our toes into sand on a Brazilian beach with the surf pounding in our ears, but the air is fresh and the November sun is warm. Sometimes I even discern a zephyr from across the sea.Five and a half minutes through my little cosmos. It's best full screen.

Thanks Ruth. Only today I was telling a friend that I need not travel far and wide in literal terms. I have all these wonderful friends throughout the blogosphere whose homes I can visit in words and pictures and you've just reaffirmed this.
It's not quite the same as being there with you but it's pretty good nevertheless. And inspirational.

Elisabeth, well I love that. Truly for me, too, the world has opened up, in big ways and small, through friends like you in faraway places. It's still hard to get my head around you heading into summer, while we darken down into winter.
A lovely morning walk with you and Esperanza! Loved the beaded spider webs and the other visual elements of this visual poem. Now, if only I could sit for a while with you and Esperanza, having a cup of tea perhaps.

How I love the colors of November...all those shades of grey and amber. What a delightful way of savoring the moment! I was sitting with a mug of coffee, leaning back into my chair, listening to the delightful music as those images played across the screen...Delightful! How I love the dried goldenrod, the stand of naked trees, the crystal spiderweb, and Bishop of course. Thank you so much for taking us along with you.

I know the answer to be: "A non-working farm." ;) Why... a farm only for the capturing and writing down of nature... pure enjoyment. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful Thanksgiving, but I send my best wishes just the same.
Dear George, won't you come and sit with us, and drink some Brazilian yerba mate tea? It's not all that different looking than euonymous. I haven't tried it before, but I just had to see if there is Brazilian tea, and sure enough, this is a pretty interesting sounding drink that is infused in a gourd. Check it out on wiki

As for snow, we have had a few flurries, but nothing on the ground! We've had unseasonably warm weather, though it is cold now. I won't be surprised if it snows this week. It seems like we often get our first snowstorm Thanksgiving weekend.

Brendan, thank you for walking with me and for your generous response. The dewy webs were from a magic morning two years ago. The frost was too, I confess. We've had a bit of it though, but not photos yet this year. I would miss it, too, if I lived in the heat of FL. The crystals seem to be different every time they form, and I never get tired of looking closely.

Oliag, it was lovely to have you walk along with me. This meadow and woods are ever changing, from time of day, or season, or weather, and I feel myself drawn to it as to a source.
I created the program with Picasa software. Just google for a free download. I was happy to find it for the Mac, because I believe when I first got the Macbook a couple years ago, they didn't have it, or so I thought anyway. It is so easy to create a video and then load it up to YouTube! It even allowed me to pull the song from iTunes. I don't know how long the music will last before it gets pulled for copyright reasons, we'll see. But there are free music sites where you can use music without worrying about copyright, just google 'royalty free music.'
