Kinsale

We spent a few hours in Kinsale Saturday, in the rain.

They were expecting us, from the looks of this backpack. They got it slightly off: MSU colors with U of M's logo. They don't know how wrong that is.

i was expecting to see you somewhere in the pictures Ruth.
Merlin's keep is lovly name. Is that a nursery ? beautifully maintained.
Kinsale seems very tranquil, perhaps weekend or the rain kept the locals indoors. The red window
and the stone wall has some stories to tell. i would have loved to talk to the people inside.
Its a visual treat Ruth. Rain hasn't dampened your enthusiasm.
i wanted to write that the rain hasn't dampened your sprits but i was in doubt if it is spirit or sprit or both are wrong. What is alcohol ?

i just love this collage of photos, such different sites to see.
i laughed out loud looking at the Michigan bag. did you buy it?
hope this coming week is as glorious as the previous.

Don't we love those wonderful "mistakes" that only we few can notice instantly! Again, you were brave to post that MICHIGAN backpack. :)

Rauf said it perfectly: these posts have been visual treats!

rauf, Merlin's Keep seems to be someone's private yard. I was walking by and, stunned, stopped and gaped. It could be a nursery, but I don't think it is.

The rain didn't dampen my spirits. That's the way, with the plural. But alcohol is also called spirits.

I'll show you Blarney soon.

Lesley, I didn't buy the Michigan bag, but wouldn't that be a fun prank? I should have bought it for Aunt Bootsie, now that would have been a good gag. Man, why didn't I think of that!

I thought of you when I saw the gnomes, and of course Amelie. Too much fun for me.

Ginnie/Boots, haha, I knew you would appreciate it. I think Ireland gets a lot of tourists from Michigan, but they need to do a bit more research. ;)

Nice group of photos! The gnomes are hilarious. They make me want to have a little mystery garden somewhere. Lesley's idea of buying the bag is a great one! You'll probably see another one!

Have a great time in Dublin, the fair city, where the girls are all pretty.

A live a live Oh!

Ok, Don, thanks a lot, now you've got me singing that song, and I'll be singing it all the way to Dublin in the bus. The children thank you, Inge thanks you, Glen thanks you, Cathleen thanks you and the bus driver thanks you.

:D

Good 'ol Molly Malone will greet you at the end of Grafton Street!! If you have the time, I highly recommend going into House of Ireland. I found the best price on an Irish sweater there--it is such a "Susan/Lu Anderson" store. It's located on the street that borders Trinity College, pretty close to Grafton. We exited Trinity and found it walking to Grafton.

I'm SO jealous!!!

I agree--you should've bought the backpack. That is hilarious!!

Mrs. M., thanks for the reminder about House of Ireland. I couldn't remember the name.

We arrived in Dublin today and had supper at the Oliver St. John Gogarty pub tonight, such a good place to eat, drink a Smithwick and listen to live music.

I can see it now. Boots is gonna end up with a GREEN MICHIGAN backpack one of these days! UGH. And I'll have to act surprised and so thankful.

Actually, I think it's hilarious!! :)
